Scott Properties entered into a Promotion Agreement on this site in 2015. The site was not allocated for development in the emerging Local Plan, but following pre-application advice and public consultation, an outline planning application was submitted in 2016. The Council was unable to demonstrate a sufficient supply of land for housing at the time, so planning permission was approved at Committee on the basis that the benefits of the development outweighed any harms. The site was then taken to the open market and sold to Sanctuary in 2017.
